The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group South West (FWAG SW) are looking to recruit a Communications and Membership Officer to ensure that members, partner organisations and the public are kept informed of our charitable activities and commercial services. The role will also contribute to our goals to educate the wider public on the excellent conservation work many farmers are doing and provide a coordination role for membership events throughout the SouthWest region.
FWAG SW is a membership charity that operates throughout the South West region of the UK and provides on-farm environmental advice to farmers on a wide range of agricultural, conservation and water management issues. Our advisory services are provided in a whole farm context which considers legislation and regulation, agricultural, habitat management and creation, archaeological feature protection and landscape value, all as part of a profitable farm business.
This post forms part of a successful and energetic team with a wide variety of expertise on habitat creation, restoration and conservation, soil management, water quality issues, management of run-off, sustainable land management and Natural Flood Management.
The successful applicant will work closely with one other existing (part time) Communications Officer, the General Manager and the advisory teams to effectively communicate with our membership base, stakeholders and the public regarding our work and to enhance the reputation of our brand.
This post is available for an immediate start and will suit a highly-motivated individual with a relevant background who is keen to develop their career in communications within the conservation and / or agricultural sector. Applicants must have experience in a previous communications role and be educated to a degree level, or have relevant equivalent experience.
