Countryside Stewardship and E.L.M. Event Series with Blackdown Hills AONB, East Devon AONB and the Axe Catchment (including part of Dorset AONB)

On behalf of Blackdown Hills AONB, East Devon AONB and Dorset AONB, FWAG will deliver a series of online seminars between now and March 2021. These seminars will be open to all landowners and managers from Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon AONB area, as well as the Axe catchment (including a part of Dorset AONB).

These seminars will raise awareness of the Agricultural Transition Plan and development of the Environmental Land Management system (E.L.M.). The seminars will also update on changes to the Countryside Stewardship (CS) scheme and explore the opportunities in CS to generate an income through the provision of public goods during the transition period before E.L.M. is introduced and whilst BPS payments are reduced.

Farm support is entering a period of fundamental change, as set out in the Agricultural Transition Plan. Within this plan, it has been recognised that farmers and landowners in protected landscapes are providing huge environmental, social and cultural benefits but that farming profitably without direct payments is often challenging. Therefore, the Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme is proposed to provide advice and funding for those in protected landscapes.

To learn more about the needs of the farming and landowning community in the AONBs and across the Axe catchment and to provide tailored support through the next few years, landowner and managers are also invited to complete a survey. Those who complete the survey will be entered in prize draw for a £50 Mole Valley voucher.
