The Somerset Otter relaunched in 2019. The Somerset Otter dates back to 1982 and over that time has had an exceptional array of winning farms. The award took a short break, but with so much good practice in Somerset, along with new initiatives, we are pleased to welcome the return of the Somerset Otter!

The winner of the Somerset Otter also goes on to represent the county in the regional Barn Owl Trophy, the winner of which goes forward as our regions entry into the National Silver Lapwing the following year.

How to enter?

Entries for 2024 are now open! We encourage you to nominate yourself or you can put forward someone else. If you are a farmer that fancies your chances, or you know of a worthy farm that demonstrates good conservation practices alongside farming, then don’t wait…
