Sammy Read

Sammy joined the FWAG SouthWest Gloucestershire Team in April 2021 and has since relocated to the Devon team. Farming has always been close to her heart due to growing up on a working farm in Somerset. She has a degree in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation and 4 years’ experience working for Natural England, which included working with farmers to create Higher Tier Countryside Stewardship agreements. For the last 2 years she has worked with Catchment Sensitive Farming and has delivered various projects around mitigation of soil erosion, supply chain engagement, and carbon & nutrient management.

Farm Plastic Recycling Scheme

The first FWAG Farm Plastic Recycling Scheme began in 2004 and has taken place annually ever since. The aim of the scheme is to provide farmers with a responsible, environmentally sound way to recycle plastic, preventing it from going to landfill. The scheme is simple and straight forward, with no membership fees so the farmers only pay for the plastic they bring.
