This year marks the 70th anniversary of the National Parks act. Today (Wednesday 17th July 2019) Exmoor hosted a big picnic to celebrate, attended by representatives of the other UK National Parks and other special guests including Nial Hobhouse, grandson of Arthur Hobhouse chair of the National Parks Committee, author of the Hobhouse Report that led to the National Parks Act 1949.

FWAG SouthWest were invited to showcase our Headwaters of the Exe project to the visitors alongside our partners in the farming community, the National Park and the Hill Farming Network. There was also a chance to talk about the project to HRH Prince Charles as he visited the event. It was also a great day to catch up with our farmers who attended in force to celebrate the role of our working landscapes.
