Update on 12.05.2020

Update from General Manager, Gary Rumbold

Our farm advisers are still working and we can continue to provide the large majority of our services but with some changes in the way that we communicate with you, so that we can keep you and our workers safe.

Most of our workforce are currently working from home, but we do have some office cover and our telephone lines are being manned during normal office hours. If you want to speak to an adviser, you can contact them via their usual mobile number or their email address, or contact us at the main office on 01823 660684 and we can put you in touch.

We have instructed our farm advisers not to conduct face-to-face farm visits or meetings until further notice but they can provide advice to you by telephone and in many cases, if you have a PC or laptop we can also offer videoconferencing facilities to talk to you, which is particularly useful for looking through documents, images and grant application forms together.

We are providing Countryside Stewardship application services remotely, and where our social distancing guidelines can be met we may be able to offer urgent farm visits for field survey and soil sampling work, as long as there is no face-to-face contact with you or your families and workers.

Our team will strive to offer as normal a service as we can during the coronavirus emergency, so please do make contact if there is anything we can do to help you.

Update on 25.03.2020

In line with current government guidance, please see the below for the latest on FWAG SW activities.

Farm Visits

In line with the updated government guidance, FWAG SW advisers will not be undertaking farm visits at this time. Advisers will be in touch with you if you have a farm visit arranged and we will see if we can assist in an different way. Advisers and admin staff are now, where possible, working from home – if you need to get in touch with your adviser for any reason then they will be contactable via email or mobile.

If you need advice from us with regards to a new or ongoing application but do not have the contact details for your adviser, please call the office on 01823 660684 - Carolyn (Office Manager) is working from the office at this time, and can put you in touch with an adviser.

The guidance above is in place until further notice. We understand that the news is fast changing, and we will constantly review this policy. The most up-to-date guidance from the government can be found by clicking here.

Update on 17.03.2020

In light of Coronavirus we are keeping FWAG SW activities under constant review and in line with government guidance.

We regret to inform you but at this time we have decided to postpone all FWAG SW organised membership meetings and other events until the end of April, at which time we will review our policy. In line with the government advice we believe that cancelling all non-essential group events is the most sensible option at this time.

Farm visits
Where you have a visit already arranged with one of our advisers on your farm, the adviser will contact you prior to your meeting to discuss how we can make other arrangements to complete the visit without meeting you face-to-face, and this can be followed up with a telephone call and/or an email. You will be asked to confirm that you or other people on the farm have not had exposure to Coronavirus in the past 14 days. We will follow the current government guidance and ensure that we keep social contact to a minimum on our visit.

If you have a meeting arranged and are concerned about the visit, or concerned that you may have been exposed to Coronavirus, please get in touch with us and we will gladly arrange for your meeting to take place at a later date.

Countryside Stewardship advice and applications
At this stage we believe we can deliver advice on applying for Countryside Stewardship, or make applications on your behalf, through a combination of visiting your farm, with your permission but without you being at the meeting and by using telephone and email to communicate with you about your application.

The guidance above is in place until further notice. We understand that the news is fast changing, and we will constantly review this policy.
